Marc Stamminger is a professor for Visual Computing at FAU since 2002. Visual Computing investigates algorithms to synthesize and analyze images with computers. This includes the synthesis of photo-realistic images from 3D models, the capturing of 3D models with cameras, LiDAR, or Radar, and the simulation of light propagation in 3D environments. Within FAU Solar, Marc’s lab wants to contribute its expertise in the generation of large-scale 3D models of real environments and a following lighting simulation for varying time and weather conditions.

Marc published more than 250 papers in high-ranked journals and conferences of visual computing. He recently won a Siggraph Test-Of-Time Award and twice the Siggraph Emerging Technologies “Best-Of-Show” award. Marc is member of the executive committee of Eurographics and serves as Eurographics’ professional board chair. Since 2022, he is vice dean of the technical faculty of FAU
