Erlangen Stadtwerke is taking a step towards sustainable energy with Heliatek‘s solar film technology. These thin films (barely 2 millimeters thick!) offer a promising addition to solar power options. They are lightweight (weight of 1.6 kilograms) design and what even more important recyclable. Siemens Energy’s use of this technology further demonstrates its potential. This collaboration reflects the mission of Solar TAP to accelerate innovation in photovoltaics. In general, it’s a positive advancement for the Erlangen region’s commitment to a sustainable future. Details of this initiative were recently featured in the Bayerische Staatszeitung article.
